Overall, this is a very well made, solid, and attractive alternative to putting your handgun under your pillow at night, or under a table during the day. Home invasion is on the rise, and having your handgun "at the ready" is smart and necessary. Be aware though, that you are NOT able to lock this, so if you are going to keep your handgun loaded (and it is useless if you don't), you MUST mount this up and away from the reach (even from a chair) of children. Also be aware that if you are going to mount this near your bedside, the ticking of the clock, in a silent room, can be a bit annoying.
